Hit family with a car while trick

Some got hit by a car while trick-or-treating with their young daughter are expected to recover.

Samuel Kinkennon III and his wife Kelly Kinkennon badly injured when they were hit by a car as they crossed North Academy. Their daughter, a 4 year old girl who is dressed like a Princess, suffered minor injuries. The little girl riding a train as small as his parents had brought it at the intersection.

Colorado Springs Police Department said the family was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. 11 News has learned that elderly injuries including broken legs and a head injury, but they are not life-threatening.

Investigators said the 22 year old Shynesia Harris has turned to the left of the Drive to the village of Parkmoor Academy Blvd when she collided with the family.

Investigators say the family has right-of-way while crossing. Harris got the green light, but not the arrow turn.
